Experience

Kate has been obsessed with home decor for as long as she can remember. From watching home renovation shows to redecorating her room as often as she was allowed, she learned early just how much switching a duvet cover or adding a new accessory could transform a room. At one point she aspired to become an interior designer, though her love of writing won out in the end.

Kate started her role as Editor in May 2021; she previously worked as the Email Editor for The Spruce and The Spruce Eats since joining Dotdash in July 2019. She worked as a freelance contributing writer for POPSUGAR for three years, and her writing has also appeared on The Spruce, MyDomaine, and Stacker. An experienced writer and editor, Kate began her career in digital content marketing at Intrigue Media, helping local businesses with content marketing strategies, social media and email marketing, and copywriting for web. Her love of all things home and lifestyle made her an expert content marketer for homeowner-focused businesses. 

As Senior Editor, Kate currently oversees content on MyDomaine focused around remodeling, home how-tos, cleaning, and design. She assigns, publishes, and manages articles, ensuring that the content is accurate, up-to-date on the latest trends, and appealing to the MyDomaine readers.

Education

Kate has a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of Guelph and a Master of Arts in Journalism with a print specialization from the University of Western Ontario.
